    Early Life and Education

    Mark Radcliffe was born in Bolton, Lancashire, on 29th June 1958.

    He attended Bolton School and later studied American Studies, British Studies, and Classical Civilization at the University of Manchester.

    Music Career

    Radcliffe's interest in music began at an early age. He played drums in several bands, including Skrewdriver, which he left before their transformation into a skinhead group.

    His radio career commenced in 1982 on Piccadilly Radio, where he hosted the evening Friday show "Cures For Insomnia."

    BBC Radio

    Radcliffe rose to national prominence on BBC Radio 5 in 1990 and later hosted "Out on Blue Six" on BBC Radio One.
